The NWT also inserts the word "other" when the original phrase implies the deity of Jesus. They call this "restoring the name of Jehovah" although that phrase is highly questionable since no name was ever there in the first place. One interesting characteristic is that because of the inordinate emphasis The Watchtower places on the specific pseudo-name "Jehovah", it inserts this name wherever the Greek word Kyrios is found but only if it does not directly refer to Jesus. The observant & studied Bible student will see the unique disposition of the NWT that this Kingdom Interlinear Translation will easily demonstrate. Assuming it takes many years of intense study to be considered a scholar in any language, one has to doubt that there is any expertise at all that The Watchtower provides to the "translation" of The Bible whether from Hebrew, Aramaic or Greek.

In a 1954 Scottish trial (the transcript of which I have read), he proports to "be familiar" with Hebrew and Greek yet demonstrates not even the ability to speak a single word of either language. In this speech he divulges his 1 year of study (two semesters) of the Greek language.

This fact has been established by other documentation that I myself have read and seen as well as by a speech given by the "principal translator of the Society's New World Translation" Fred Franz who in his later years gave a talk entitle "Decision". The Watchtower had no staff capable of reading, writing or speaking period (Koinonia) Greek (or either of the other two original languages of The Bible). This placement provides for an easy comparison of the faithfulness of the "Translation".Īccording to Watchtower insiders including members of the Governing Body, Watchtower writers, and executive secretary etc. In a second column on the same page is the "New World Translation".

In the first column is the aforementioned Greek text and word for word translation by Westcott and Hort. While the many additional features in this book provide interesting reasoning's along with established fact, the main feature of this book is the two column layout of scripture. It has also published many unorthodox teachings that are "proven" by taking many phrases from scripture out of context as well as "adjustments" in it's translation of the Bible. (When the Gentile times again failed to end in the Battle of Armageddon). It has demonstrated many embarrassing interpretations of current events with it's many forays into end times prophecy, which continued from this organizations first writings all the way up to 1975. The Watchtower has published an extraordinary amount of reading material since it's inception in the late 1800's. While history has corrected The Watchtowers prophecies of the past, the Word for Word English translation of the Westcott and Hort text of the Greek New Testament scriptures provided in this their own book, corrects some of their questionable doctrine.
